Description

The corn plant has a known history of 8,000 to 10,000 years and is native to the American continent. This plant grew in America, was cultivated and harvested by indigenous people, and was brought to Europe by Spanish and English explorers.

Corn, which has a history of 8,000 to 10,000 years before Christ, was first produced in the American continent and then brought to European lands by Spanish and British explorers. A few years after reaching Spain, corn, which was grown in Portugal, France, Italy and other Southeastern European countries and in large regions of North Africa, came to Turkish lands in the early 17th century, via North Africa and Syria, from Egypt to Istanbul, known as "Egyptian Wheat" or "Egyptian Wheat". It came as "Corn Millet" and was shortened over time to the name corn.
